The folks at Microsoft are coming up with some great teaching tools for the classroom. In Thailand, they are trying out a new tool that allows multiple students interact with a screen via multiple mice. The teachers can design their own lessons by creating interactive power point slides that respond to the multiple mouse clicks.
MouseMischief.org is dedicated to exploring, understanding, and experimenting with the Mischief research project. Mischief is a research project whose premise is giving each student in a classroom a mouse. It aims to provide scalable, sustainable, and affordable classroom technology to schools in developing regions.
The students show excitement and energy with the ability to interact together and learn as a group with this new technology. I can imagine that the newness of the tool keeps them engaged as well as the “cool” factor of getting to interact with a giant screen that is projected onto the wall.
