ctl+c, ctl+f, move, ctl+d, ctl+d, ctl+d…

The last three days have been very interesting at work. I have been working on a logo for a toy company - quite a departure from information architecture work where I am buried in use cases and wireframes that all seem to blend together. As usual, I began surveying the web for inspiration and opened up Illustrator to really see what I was made of…and then slowly, almost silently, I hit my flow. It was totally brilliant. I was making shapes and playing with color and I felt like it was 4am and I was back in my house in college with my headphones, a bag of goldfish and green tea, furiously working to finish a project. I realized that I’ve been stuck in a mode where I convince myself that I’m too busy to just play around with design. All I have to say is that it’s good to be back. Let’s hope I keep this up a while longer.
